Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Assistants perform a variety of tasks to ensure smooth warehouse operations, including:
- Receiving and inspecting goods: Check product type, quantity, and condition upon arrival, and record them accurately in inventory systems.
- Storage and organization: Store items securely, maintain proper arrangement, and optimize warehouse layout for efficiency.
- Order preparation and dispatch: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring correct labeling and packaging to prevent damage.
- Inventory management: Conduct stock checks, maintain accurate records, and report discrepancies or shortages to supervisors.
- Equipment operation: Operate forklifts or other warehouse machinery safely, if qualified.
- Maintenance and safety: Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations
- Coordination: Communicate with logistics, sales, and operations teams to ensure timely deliveries and stock availability.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum education: SPM or equivalent; certificates in warehousing or logistics are advantageous.
- Experience: 1–2 years in a warehouse environment is often preferred.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy, familiarity with warehouse management systems (e.g., SAP), attention to detail, teamwork, and physical stamina.
- Optional: Forklift license for operating warehouse machinery.
