Developer / Engineer – SQL & UNIX

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Developer / Engineer with 3+ years of software/application development experience. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in SQL and UNIX Shell Scripting, with additional exposure to AML/KYC and Java being an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, maintain, and support software/application systems.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for application development, data processing, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain UNIX/Linux shell scripts for application operations, automation, and batch processing.
• Analyze technical requirements and translate them into effective application solutions.
• Perform application troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Support application deployments, testing, maintenance, and production activities.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, QA, Application Support, and other technical teams.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in application enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of software/application development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL.
• Strong experience with UNIX/Linux Shell Scripting.
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience in application troubleshooting and production support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Good to Have

• Knowledge or experience in AML (Anti-Money Laundering) / KYC (Know Your Customer) applications or processes.
• Hands-on experience with Java / Java-based applications.
• Banking / Financial Services domain experience.
• Experience with batch processing, scheduling, or enterprise application support.
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates from Application Development, Production Support, Application Support, Backend Development, or Software Engineering backgrounds with strong SQL + UNIX Shell Scripting experience are encouraged to apply.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
