Are you a software engineer who enjoys solving real-world problems and building systems that serve thousands of users?

We are looking for a a Backend Software Engineer (Java) to join our engineering team. You will work on real production systems in the FinTech and InsurTech space, developing and maintaining backend services that support our products and customers.

We are particularly interested in engineers who have hands-on experience with Java, whether through professional production work or relevant software development experience, and who are eager to continue growing their backend engineering skills.

What You'll Be Working On

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain backend services and APIs.
• Build and enhance features using Java and Spring Boot.
• Work on existing production systems, including troubleshooting, debugging, maintenance and improvements.
• Write clean, maintainable and reliable code.
• Contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
• Work with other engineers, product managers and business stakeholders to deliver features.
• Investigate and resolve production issues when required.
• Learn and work with the technologies and systems used across our platform.

For Junior Engineers

For junior candidates, we are looking for someone who:

• Has a foundation in software engineering and programming.
• Has some hands-on experience developing applications using Java, through professional work, internships, university projects, or personal projects.
• Is willing and motivated to learn Java and Spring Boot and grow into a backend engineering role.
• Understands fundamental programming concepts, data structures and software engineering principles.
• Is willing to learn how production systems are designed, deployed, monitored and maintained.
• Has good problem-solving and communication skills.
• A Computer Science, Software Engineering or related degree is preferred.

Good to Have

The following are advantageous to have:

• Understands REST APIs, databases, testing and common backend engineering practices.
• Experience in FinTech, banking, insurance or other financial services.
• Experience working with cloud platforms and modern deployment practices.
• Experience with relational databases and API integrations.
