About the Role

Chipstone Electronics is setting up and ramping a module-packaging production facility in Singapore.

You will be responsible for keeping production equipment safe, reliable and ready for operation. During the plant ramp-up, you will support equipment installation, commissioning and trial production. Once production stabilises, your focus will cover preventive maintenance, breakdown response, equipment performance and spare-parts control.

This position is most relevant to technicians from semiconductor back-end, smart-card/module packaging, electronics assembly or similar automated manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the installation, setup, commissioning and qualification of production equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance schedules.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and restore production safely and quickly.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, sensor, motor and basic control-system faults.
  • Assist with equipment adjustment, calibration, alignment and functional checks.
  • Work with Process Engineering and Production to investigate equipment-related defects, instability and yield loss.
  • Monitor equipment alarms, repeated failures, downtime and maintenance trends.
  • Identify root causes of recurring failures and recommend permanent corrective actions.
  • Maintain complete repair, breakdown, preventive-maintenance and equipment-history records.
  • Conduct post-maintenance checks before releasing equipment back to Production.
  • Manage critical spare parts, consumables and maintenance tools, including minimum stock levels and usage records.
  • Coordinate with equipment suppliers, service providers and technical-support teams for complex repairs or upgrades.
  • Ensure contractors and vendors follow plant safety, cleanroom and access requirements.
  • Support equipment modifications and improvements that increase uptime, reliability, safety or productivity.
  • Ensure maintenance work complies with cleanroom, ESD, contamination-control and workplace-safety requirements.
  • Guide production operators on basic equipment checks, cleaning and autonomous maintenance.
  • Support shift operations and breakdown response as production expands.

Requirements

  • NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of equipment-maintenance experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control components.
  • Able to read electrical drawings, equipment manuals and mechanical diagrams.
  • Familiar with preventive maintenance, breakdown analysis and maintenance documentation.
  • Comfortable using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and basic mechanical measuring instruments.
  • Good understanding of equipment safety, cleanroom practices and ESD control.
  • Able to work independently and respond practically to urgent production issues.
  • Willing to support rotating shifts or on-call breakdown response as production ramps up.

Experience maintaining equipment used for die attach, wire bonding, encapsulation, vision inspection, electrical testing or related module-packaging processes would be advantageous.
