About the role

Rock Maestro Sdn Bhd is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant - Data Entry to join our accounting team. This is a full-time position based in Kota Kinabalu District, Sabah. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records through precise data entry and accounts administration. You will support the wider accounting function by ensuring all financial transactions are correctly recorded and processed, contributing directly to the organisation's financial operations and reporting capabilities.

What you'll be doing

• Enter financial data, invoices, receipts and other accounting documents accurately into the accounting system

• Maintain and organise financial records, ensuring all documentation is properly filed and easily retrievable

• Reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies, reporting any issues to senior accounting staff

• Process invoices, purchase orders and expense claims in accordance with company procedures

• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and statements under supervision

• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash management tasks

• Support the accounts team with general administrative duties including filing, photocopying and document management

• Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve queries and obtain missing documentation

• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and comply with data protection policies

What we're looking for

• Qualification in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

• Proven experience in data entry, accounts administration or a similar clerical accounting role

• Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting packages such as QuickBooks, SAP or Xero is advantageous

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies

• Strong organisational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines

• Competent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is beneficial

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes

• A professional approach to handling confidential financial information
