Description and Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Own server PSU development from product requirements and supplier selection through qualification and mass production.
Define and review PSU electrical, mechanical, thermal, firmware, safety, reliability, and system interface requirements.
Work closely with PSU ODM suppliers to review designs, development schedules, test results, technical risks, and project deliverables.
Lead design reviews and validation activities, including efficiency, power quality, transient response, current sharing, redundancy, hot-swap, protection, thermal performance, and reliability.
Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for PSU issues found during development, manufacturing, or customer deployment.
Collaborate with system, mechanical, thermal, firmware, quality, manufacturing, sourcing, and project teams.
Support PSU technology roadmap, supplier technical assessments, cost optimization, and product complexity reduction.
Improve PSU design guidelines, validation plans, and lessons learned based on project experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in AC/DC power supply development, validation, system integration, or a related engineering role.
Strong understanding of switch-mode power supply design, including PFC, LLC or other isolated DC/DC topologies, power sharing, hot-swap, ORing, and protection circuits.
Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, AC sources, and other power validation equipment.
Experience working with ODM or power supply suppliers and supporting products from design through mass production.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical issue investigations across multiple teams.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with server, storage, telecom, AI, or high-performance computing power supplies.
Knowledge of CRPS, CFF, PMBus, OpenBMC, 80 PLUS, and applicable safety or regulatory standards.
Experience with high-power or high-density PSU designs, PSU firmware, reliability testing, or failure analysis.
