Responsibilities

• Assess, investigate, negotiate, and settle legitimate claims within the personal authorisation limit provided by the Company, ensuring claims are handled promptly, fairly, and cost-effectively.
• Provide prompt and efficient claims services to claimants and intermediaries, monitor the efficiency of service providers to support the Company's service standards, and maintain proper recording and retention of claims documents and correspondence.
• Review and update claims reserves periodically to ensure the Company's interests are properly preserved, maintain appropriate and adequate claims reserves, and pursue subrogation and co-insurance/reinsurance recoveries.
• Ensure compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) guidelines, the Company's claims policies, Customer Service Standards, and the Claims Department's Quality Objectives; conduct scheduled claims reviews, minimise claims leakages, and escalate suspicious and/or fraudulent claims to superiors for thorough investigation and appropriate action.
• Liaise regularly with underwriters and business units on policy- and claims-related issues, report adverse claims trends to the Business Manager or Functional Manager, and complete any other tasks assigned by superiors.

Qualifications

• Degree Holder, preferably with professional insurance qualifications.
• Minimum 3 years of related Claims Handling/Management Experience.

Required Skills

• Good communication skills; written and spoken.
• Adequate relevant knowledge in Underwriting and Claims.
• Adequate negotiation skills.
