JOB PURPOSE
The Localization Project Coordinator (Thai) is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, tracking and quality review of Thai localization and LQA projects across assigned titles and content scopes.
The role works closely with the Localization Manager, internal project teams, external translation vendors and LQA vendors to ensure timely delivery, linguistic consistency, clear documentation and continuous improvement of Thai localization quality.
This position will be responsible for managing all localization and LQA activities for assigned titles, serving as the primary point of coordination across internal stakeholders, vendors, and QA teams. Responsibilities include project planning and execution, vendor management, linguistic quality oversight, issue tracking, reporting, knowledge-base maintenance, and ensuring timely delivery of localization milestones. Final budget, vendor, project, and commercial approval authority will remain with the Localization Manager and/or designated internal approver.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Localization Coordination
- Support localization projects across assigned titles, including planning support, task tracking delivery follow-up and coordination with internal stakeholders and external vendors
- Track project milestones, dependencies, risks, open issues and pending decisions and escalate delays or quality concerns to the Localization Manager in a timely manner.
- Coordinate project requests and workflows using memoQ and/or other CAT tools, TMS platform or internal tracking tools, where applicable.
- Support delivery alignment across translation, LQA, internal review and final submission stages.
- Ensure translated materials and related deliverables are coordinated accurately and delivered according to agreed timelines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for localization process, tools and workflows, including the evaluation and implementation of automation and AI assisted solutions, where appropriate.
Vendor Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate day-to-day communication with Thai translation and LQA vendors, including project briefing, query handling, delivery follow-up, issue tracking and feedback consolidation
- Brief vendors on project scope, schedule, source materials, style requirements terminology expectations, delivery format and quality requirements
- Act at the day-to-day contact for vendor queries and consolidate questions for internal clarification where required.
- Maintain vendor communication records, open issue logs and action trackers to ensure clear follow-up and timely resolution.
- Provide structured feedback to vendors and escalate quality, schedule, scope or delivery risks to the Localization Manager for decision making
Thai Linguistic Quality Review
- Conduct Thai linguistic spot checks on vendor deliverables to review terminology, tone, consistency, cultural appropriateness, text accuracy and adherence to project guidelines.
- Review translation content from vendors, including translation and LQA deliverables to identify recurring linguistic or quality issues.
- Provide practical and structured linguistic feedback to vendors to support quality improvement and calibration.
- Recommend Thai linguistic acceptance / rejection for review by the Localization Manager, where required.
- Support quality calibration with LQA vendors and internal stakeholders to improve consistency across titles and content types.
Localization Knowledge Base & Language Asset Management
- Build and maintain Thai localization knowledge assets, including title-specific glossaries, translation memories, style guides, terminology notes, character/IP-specific translation rules and recurring issue logs.
- Compile title-specific translation tips, vendor handover notes and project learning points to support continuity across vendors, projects and internal team changes.
- Maintain and update Thai terminology references to ensure consistency across different documents, content types and project phases.
- Support proper documentation of Thai language decisions, approved terminology and localization guidelines for future references
- Assist in identifying gaps in existing language assets and recommend improvements to strengthen localization quality and efficiency.
Weekly Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare weekly Thai localization progress reports for the Localization Manager / BNEAS localization team, covering project status, vendor progress, key risks, quality issues, pending decisions and next actions.
- Prepare post-project summaries, issue trends, quality observations and improvement recommendations to support future localization planning.
- Document recurring vendor, process or quality issues and propose practical workflow improvements.
- Support the development and maintenance of localization guidelines, best practices, reporting templates and project tracking documents.
Schedule & Cost Tracking Support
- Track localization and LQA schedules, delivery milestones and vendor submission status and highlight risks to the Localization Manager and relevant internal stakeholders
- Support cost tracking by maintaining records of vendors quotations, purchase requests, invoices and approved budget references, where applicable
- Coordinate with the Localization Manager and designated internal approvers on cost reporting, project status and required follow-up actions
- Monitor potential schedule or cost risks and provide timely updates.
LQA Coordination Support
- Support LQA coordination for all localized content, including issue follow-up, bug and defect clarification, vendor query management, and status tracking across assigned languages, including but not limited to Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, English and other languages as required.
- Assist in checking localized content for language-related issues, inconsistencies or terminology deviations during LQA review stages.
- Coordinate with internal QA/LQA stakeholders and vendors on Thai language-related issues within the agreed project scope.
- Support LQA reporting and quality feedback documentation for assigned Thai localization projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognised 4-year university, preferably in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, Game Studies, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the gaming industry, including at least 3 to 5 years in game localization, LQA, localization project coordination, translation project management or vendor coordination.
- Experience working with external localization, translation or LQA vendors, including query handling, delivery tracking, feedback consolidation and issue escalation.
- Experience supporting launched game titles or live/ongoing game localization projects will be an advantage.
- Prior experience in PC, console, mobile game, entertainment, media or digital content localization will be highly relevant.
Language Skills
- Native-level proficiency in Thai, with strong linguistic sensitivity to tone, terminology, style, cultural adaptation and player-facing language quality.
- Strong professional proficiency in English for daily communication, reporting, documentation and coordination with regional stakeholders.
- Japanese language proficiency mandatory. Preferably JLPT N2 or above. [KL6.1]
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with CAT tools, TMS or localization platforms such as memoQ, XLOC or equivalent systems.
- Ability to manage translation memories, glossaries, terminology lists, issue trackers and project documentation accurately.
- Familiarity with video game consoles. Able to maneuver and use debug functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Copilot, Word and PowerPoint, for reporting, tracking and documentation.
- Good understanding of game localization workflows, LQA processes, vendor coordination, issue tracking and delivery management
