Our client is a leading player in the steel manufacturing industry, specialising in the production of high-quality steel products for construction and infrastructure projects across Malaysia. They focus on a diverse range of steel solutions, including hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel, catering to both local and international markets. With a commitment to innovation and sustainability, they operate multiple manufacturing facilities, ensuring a robust supply chain to meet the growing demands of the construction sector.

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to develop, maintain, and enhance in-house business applications, support system integrations, and ensure robust database and application support across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance in-house business applications.
• Design, develop, test, debug, and implement software applications.
• Maintain and support existing applications, databases, and programmes.
• Gather and analyse user requirements to translate them into practical IT solutions.
• Work closely with users and business departments to identify system improvements and automation opportunities.
• Troubleshoot application issues and provide technical support to users.
• Develop and maintain integrations between internal applications, ERP systems, and other business platforms.
• Work with APIs and system interfaces to support data exchange between applications.
• Support database maintenance and application-related data requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, system specifications, user guides, and application documentation.
• Ensure applications comply with internal IT standards, security requirements, and development best practices.
• Participate in application enhancements, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  
  
  

Requirements

Must-have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Applicants must have the legal right to work in Malaysia. Visa sponsorship is not available.
• Minimum 3+ years of software development or programming experience.
• Hands-on experience in one or more of the following technologies: C#.
• Good knowledge of relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL.
• Understanding of software development, debugging, and application support.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with users from different departments.
  
  
  

Nice-to-have:

• Hands-on experience with enterprise applications and business systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good troubleshooting ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as within an IT team.
• Experience with API integration or working with system interfaces.
• Familiarity with ERP systems integration.
• Experience supporting or maintaining Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or similar reporting tools.
