About the Role

Our client is a well-established technology-driven organisation operating in the defence and engineering sector, delivering mission-critical solutions across complex operational environments. They are seeking a

UI/UX Designer

to join a collaborative, close-knit design team focused on transforming intricate backend workflows into seamless, intuitive digital experiences. In this role, you will play a central part in shaping the user experience of a core operations platform, as well as supporting web interfaces and internal tools. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer who thrives on solving high-complexity problems in a structured yet innovative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver polished end-to-end

UI/UX experiences

for a mission-critical operations platform, web interfaces, and internal tooling

Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure designs align with real user workflows and organisational objectives

Explore, prototype, and iterate on innovative design concepts that shape the future of the platform, while actively supporting ongoing feature development

Conduct

user research

and usability testing with internal and external users to validate design decisions and drive continuous iteration

Maintain high design quality by performing design reviews and collaborating directly with engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle

Analyse platform usage data to surface user pain points and identify opportunities for meaningful, measurable improvements

Contribute actively to team meetings, design critiques, and brainstorming sessions to foster a culture of shared growth and learning

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of professional UI/UX design experience, supported by a portfolio demonstrating user journey design across digital platforms

Proven ability to distil

complex, data-heavy workflows

into intuitive user flows and clean, functional visual designs

Strong proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as

Figma

, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent

Solid understanding of UX principles across web, mobile, and touch interfaces, with a user-first and data-informed design mindset

Experience with motion design and micro-interactions

Strong communication skills with the ability to present, discuss, and defend design decisions clearly to cross-functional stakeholders
