We are seeking a
Marine Technical Engineer
to support the company’s vessel technical operations and maintenance activities.
The successful candidate will provide shore-based technical support to vessels, coordinate maintenance and repair activities, liaise with vessel crews and external service providers, and ensure that technical jobs are completed safely, efficiently and within the required schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and monitor the
technical maintenance and repair requirements of company vessels
.
Plan, schedule and follow up on preventive and corrective maintenance using the
Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
.
Review vessel maintenance records, machinery performance and outstanding defects, and follow up on corrective actions.
Liaise with
Chief Engineers, vessel crews, shipyards, service engineers and suppliers
on technical matters.
Prepare and follow up on
spare parts requisitions, procurement and deliveries
.
Assist in planning and coordinating
vessel repairs, machinery overhauls, inspections and dry-docking activities
.
Prepare repair/job scopes and monitor contractors and service engineers during repair works.
Review technical reports, defect reports, maintenance records and job completion reports.
Provide technical assistance in troubleshooting
auxiliary engines, compressors, boilers, pumps, valves and associated machinery
.
Monitor machinery condition and performance and identify recurring technical issues.
Assist with
class surveys, Port State Control inspections, SIRE/CDI inspections and internal audits
.
Ensure maintenance and repair activities comply with applicable company procedures and relevant maritime requirements.
Maintain accurate technical records, correspondence and documentation.
Assist in monitoring
repair, maintenance and spare-part costs
.
Coordinate with internal departments and external parties to ensure smooth vessel operations.
Perform other technical duties as assigned by the Technical Manager or Management.
Job Requirements
Diploma or Degree in
Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
.
Relevant experience in
marine engineering, vessel maintenance, ship management or marine technical services
.
Experience with
Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS)
will be an advantage.
Practical knowledge of marine machinery, including auxiliary engines, compressors, boilers, pumps and valves.
Experience coordinating with vessel crews, service engineers, vendors and shipyards.
Good understanding of marine safety and maintenance procedures.
Familiarity with
ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL and class requirements
.
Good technical documentation, communication and coordination skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.
Able to work independently and manage multiple technical
matters simultaneously.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with sea-going engineering experience, particularly experience as a
3rd Engineer or above
, are encouraged to apply.
