Role Description The Metrology Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bayan Lepas. This position is responsible for planning, performing, and overseeing measurement and calibration activities to ensure product and process compliance with engineering and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include developing and maintaining metrology procedures, operating and programming measurement equipment, analyzing dimensional data, and troubleshooting measurement-related issues. The Metrology Engineer collaborates closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to support new product introduction, resolve nonconformities, and drive continuous improvement in measurement methods. The role also involves maintaining documentation, ensuring adherence to ISO standards, and providing technical guidance and training on metrology practices.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong metrology and calibration skills, with hands-on experience in precision measurement tools and systems.
• Candidates should possess analytical skills and a solid foundation in physics to interpret measurement data and understand measurement uncertainties.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of optics and related measurement principles for optical and laser-based inspection systems.
• Relevant engineering degree or diploma (e.g., Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Physics) or equivalent practical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems, including documentation and process control.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and industry standards related to dimensional control.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Good communication skills and proficiency in using data analysis software or statistical tools for measurement system analysis.
