SURVEY TECHNICAL ASSISTANT

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Survey Technical Assistant to join our Technical Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and carrying out field survey activities, preparing accurate survey reports, maintaining survey equipment, and ensuring survey work is performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with established procedures and ISO requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and register survey job orders upon receiving survey requests.
• Review survey request forms and coordinate with requestors to ensure the required information is complete and accurate.
• Monitor and update the Survey Job Registration Log to ensure proper job and documentation control.
• Prepare survey report templates, procedures, tools, equipment, and accessories for field survey activities.
• Conduct field surveys and obtain accurate dimensional and technical data to support production and troubleshooting activities.
• Prepare draft survey reports for review and acknowledgement.
• Submit completed survey reports within the required timeframe.
• Maintain proper hardcopy and softcopy records of survey requests, supporting documents, survey reports, and raw data.
• Prepare monthly survey statistics and inventory reports.
• Maintain, clean, preserve, and properly store survey tools, equipment, and accessories.
• Maintain calibration records and arrange for calibration of survey equipment according to the required intervals.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper handover of survey equipment.
• Ensure the latest approved survey forms and report templates are used in accordance with ISO requirements.
• Monitor survey work progress to ensure procedures are properly followed and accurate results are obtained.
• Conduct toolbox meetings and ensure team members are informed of relevant company instructions, procedures, and policies.
• Ensure field survey activities are carried out safely and in compliance with HSES requirements.
• Ensure proper use of PPE during field survey activities.
• Participate in training and share knowledge, techniques, and best practices with other Survey Technical Assistants.
• Identify technical findings and contribute solutions and improvements to survey processes and procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Certified Surveyor from a college
• Diploma in Land Surveying / Mathematical field; or Civil/Mechanical Engineering
• 1–2 years of relevant working experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of basic geometry, coordinate systems, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry.
• Able to interpret technical documents, safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Good analytical and logical thinking skills with the ability to solve practical problems.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD drafting/modelling software is an advantage.
• Knowledge of surveying and survey data processing software is an advantage.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to perform field survey work and comply with company HSES requirements.
