About Baru Healthcare & Training
Baru Healthcare is redefining what healthcare means, moving beyond reactive treatment into proactive mental fitness training. Built on three pillars, Awareness, Grit, and Creativity, we help individuals and organizations build resilience before crisis hits, not after.
We're scaling fast. As we grow our team of coaches, trainers, and clinical experts, we need an HR leader who can build the people infrastructure to match our ambition, someone who treats culture and talent with the same rigor we bring to mental fitness itself.
The Role
As Senior HR Manager, you'll own the full people function during a high-growth phase, from recruitment and onboarding to culture-building and performance systems. You'll report directly to leadership and have real influence over how we scale our team without losing what makes Baru different.
What You'll Do
- Build the people foundation, design and implement HR policies, SOPs, and systems that can scale as headcount grows
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, attract and hire coaches, clinicians, trainers, and corporate support staff who embody Baru's values
- Own onboarding & culture, create an onboarding experience that gets new hires living the "Awareness, Grit, Creativity" ethos from day one
- Manage performance & development, build review cycles, growth pathways, and training plans for a team whose work is literally about human potential
- Handle compensation & benefits, benchmark, structure, and administer competitive packages for a healthcare/wellness workforce
- Ensure compliance, keep us aligned with Malaysian employment law, healthcare industry regulations, and best practice
- Be a strategic partner to leadership, bring people data and insight into business decisions as we expand into corporate wellness contracts
What You Bring
- 5+ years in HR management, with at least 2 in a senior/standalone HR role
- Solid grasp of Malaysian labor law and employment compliance
- Experience hiring in healthcare, wellness, coaching, or professional services (strong plus)
- Proven ability to build HR processes from scratch or in a fast-scaling environment not just maintain existing ones
- Strong instincts for culture-building, not just policy enforcement
- Excellent communication you'll be the bridge between leadership vision and team reality
- A genuine interest in mental health, resilience, or wellness you don't have to be a clinician, but you should believe in the mission
Why Baru
- Be a founding-era HR leader at a company actively reshaping how Malaysia thinks about mental health
- Direct access to leadership, your decisions will shape the company, not just administer it
- Work inside a culture that practices what it preaches: psychological safety, resilience, and growth aren't just training modules here, they're how we operate
- Competitive salary + benefits package
