Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Tailor to design, cut, and stitch traditional Indian clothing. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in custom fitting and garment construction for women's ethnic wear. Candidates who demonstrate advanced knowledge of modern pattern styles, trending necklines, and varied garment designs will have direct opportunities for higher commission and earning potential.
Key Responsibilities
Garment Construction: Accurately measure, cut, and stitch saree blouses, Punjabi suits (Salwar Kameez), lehengas, kurtis, and other traditional Indian attire.
Custom Fitting: Perform precise fittings and alterations to ensure high-quality garment finish and client satisfaction.
Style Variety: Work with various sleeve patterns, neck styles, linings, and back designs based on client requirements or fashion trends.
Fabric Handling: Handle and stitch delicate, embellished, heavy, or sheer fabrics (e.g., silk, organza, velvet, georgette, heavy embroidery/zari work) with care and precision.
Finishing & Quality Assurance: Ensure clean finishing, lining placement, piping, hook/zip installations, and overall durability.
Requirements & Qualifications
Proven experience as a tailor or seamstress specializing in Indian ethnic wear.
Proficient in pattern-making, cutting, and stitching for custom garments.
Ability to work efficiently with standard and heavy-duty sewing machines.
Strong attention to detail and knowledge of garment construction techniques.
Compensation & Perks
Base pay + performance bonuses based on garment volume and style complexity.
Higher pay tiers available for mastery over additional styles (e.g., designer blouses, padded linings, Indo-Western fusion wear, intricate bridal wear).
Pay: From RM1,800.00 per month
