Job Description

• Lead the identification, assessment and management of new or revised laws, regulations, policy documents, standards, guidelines and circulars issued by relevant regulators and industry associations and oversee their timely implementation across MAHB and its relevant entities.
• Provide timely, accurate and informed updates and advice to the respective Boards of Directors and Senior Management on regulatory developments, key compliance implications, implementation risks and required actions affecting the Group MAHB’s business and operation.
• Drive and oversee the implementation of applicable regulatory requirements by the relevant business and support functions, including necessary changes to policies, standard operating procedures, products, processes, controls, systems and technology;
• Ensure effective communication of regulatory developments across the Group to promote awareness, accountability and a strong compliance culture;
• Provide regulatory and governance advisory to Compliance Units, business functions and relevant entities to support consistent interpretation and application of regulatory requirements;
• Lead and oversee the implementation of the Group Compliance Framework and provide appropriate oversight of entities in Singapore and Labuan;
• Ensure that the Compliance Framework is reviewed and updated periodically in accordance with the requirements of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), other applicable regulators, and relevant laws and regulations in force;
• Lead and oversee the implementation and maintenance of an effective corporate governance framework across the Group MAHB, in accordance with applicable BNM policy documents, local regulatory requirements and relevant laws and regulations;
• Monitor, challenge and advise Senior Management and relevant business owners on the timely and effective implementation of corrective and remedial measures arising from findings or observations raised by Internal Audit, External Audit, BNM and other relevant regulatory bodies, including escalation of material or overdue matters to the appropriate governance forums.
• Promote consistency in regulatory governance standards across the Group MAHB while recognizing jurisdiction-specific requirements, and facilitate appropriate coordination.

Job Requirement

• Bachelor's Degree or professional qualification in Law, Accounting, Compliance, Risk Management, Audit, or a related discipline.
• A Master’s Degree or relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
• Regulatory requirements are accurately assessed, assigned and implemented within stipulated timelines.
• Management receives timely reporting on implementation status, key risks and overdue actions.
• Relevant internal policies, procedures, controls and systems are updated accordingly.
• Provide timely, accurate and practical regulatory and governance advice to the respective Boards of Directors, Senior Management, Compliance Units and business owners across Group MAHB.
• All advisory services are provided professionally (correctly) and timely manner.
• To track timely submission of Exposure Draft, Discussion paper, Survey, etc. feedback to BNM and Associations.
• Project management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to conduct training on compliance topic.
