We are looking for cook that is responsible in preparing South and North Indian meals while maintaining food quality, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.
Job Responsibilities of an Indian Cook
Prepare a variety of Indian dishes, including North Indian, South Indian, vegetarian, and non-vegetarian meals.
Plan daily menus according to the employer’s or guests’ preferences.
Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and special meals as required.
Wash, cut, marinate, season, and cook ingredients properly.
Prepare Indian breads such as roti, chapati, naan, paratha, and puri.
Prepare rice dishes such as biryani, pulao, and other rice preparations.
Prepare curries, dals, vegetables, soups, chutneys, pickles, and desserts.
Maintain the taste, quality, presentation, and consistency of food.
Purchase or assist with purchasing fresh vegetables, meat, fish, spices, and other ingredients.
Check food supplies and maintain appropriate stock levels.
Store food and ingredients safely to prevent spoilage and contamination.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen sanitation.
Clean cooking equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and the kitchen after use.
Follow safe food-handling and cooking practices.
Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
Adjust dishes according to dietary requirements, allergies, or personal preferences.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of refrigerators, cupboards, and food-storage areas.
Operate kitchen appliances and cooking equipment safely.
Assist with preparing food for parties, functions, or special occasions when required.
Follow instructions from the employer, head chef, or kitchen manager.
Ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
