Role Overview
OneEmpower is seeking a Finance Manager based in Kuala Lumpur to oversee the company’s finance and accounting operations. The role will be responsible for day-to-day accounting, monthly closing, financial reporting, tax and statutory compliance, audit coordination, and maintaining proper finance processes and controls.
This is a hands-on accounting-focused role suitable for someone who is comfortable managing the full finance function, ensuring accurate books and records, and working closely with regional stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting and Financial Reporting
- Manage the full set of accounts, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, variance analysis, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure accounting records are maintained accurately and in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Review revenue, cost, and expense recognition to ensure proper cut-off and classification.
Compliance, Tax, and Audit
- Ensure compliance with Malaysia statutory, tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, company secretary, payroll providers, and other professional advisers.
- Prepare and support annual audit schedules and statutory financial statements.
- Manage corporate tax, SST or other indirect tax matters where applicable.
- Ensure timely filing and payment of statutory obligations.
Internal Controls and Process Improvement
- Maintain and improve finance policies, controls, and approval processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting efficiency.
- Support the implementation or improvement of accounting systems and finance tools.
- Ensure proper documentation and audit trail for key financial transactions.
Regional and Group Support
- Support group-level reporting requirements and cross-border finance matters where required.
- Assist with intercompany reconciliations, transfer pricing support, and group consolidation inputs.
- Work with Singapore or regional teams to ensure consistent reporting standards and finance processes.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification required or strongly preferred, such as ACCA, CPA, CA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
- Experience handling full sets of accounts and monthly closing independently.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysia accounting, tax, and statutory requirements.
- Prior experience in a regional company, fintech, technology, SaaS, or financial services environment would be an advantage.
- Good working knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Experience with cloud accounting or ERP systems would be beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
- Hands-on, reliable, and comfortable working in a lean finance team.
- Good communication skills in English. Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin would be an advantage but are not mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications
- ACCA qualified or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Experience reporting to a regional or group-level senior management team.
- Experience managing audit, tax, payroll, and statutory compliance matters in Malaysia.
- Exposure to Singapore or regional finance operations would be an advantage.
Pay: RM4,905.39 - RM13,510.85 per month
