Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Network Engineer to support the installation, replacement and maintenance of network infrastructure equipment. The role will focus on physical network hardware activities, cabling, console connectivity and troubleshooting during scheduled implementation and maintenance works.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working with Juniper routers and switches, as well as fiber and copper network cabling.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, replacement and maintenance of network equipment.
• Support scheduled network changes and infrastructure implementation activities.
• Carry out physical replacement of switches, routing components and network interface modules.
• Label, disconnect, organize and reconnect fiber and copper cables during equipment replacement.
• Rack, mount and remove network devices where required.
• Provide console connectivity to support engineers during network implementation and troubleshooting activities.
• Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity and console-related issues encountered during planned changes.
• Work closely with network engineers, internal teams, vendors and service partners to complete infrastructure activities smoothly.
• Ensure network hardware and cabling are properly organized and restored following maintenance or replacement activities.
• Support fault investigation and identify opportunities to improve network infrastructure reliability and monitoring.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience supporting network infrastructure, network equipment or data center environments.
• Good understanding of routers, switches and associated network hardware components.
• Experience working with Juniper MX-Series routers and EX-Series switches.
• Familiar with fiber and copper cabling, including cable identification, labelling and connection.
• Experience with physical network equipment installation and replacement.
• Able to perform or support hardware replacement activities such as:
• Network switch replacement
  Routing Engine replacement
  Control Board replacement
  MPC / Line Card replacement
• Familiar with console connections and basic network hardware troubleshooting.
• Able to follow implementation plans, change procedures and technical instructions carefully.
• Good communication and coordination skills when working with technical teams, vendors and stakeholders.
• Relevant networking certification such as JNCIA, CCNA or equivalent would be an advantage.
