Assistant Manager – Actuarial Valuation

We are looking for an experienced and analytical Assistant Manager to support actuarial valuation, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, stress testing, and process improvement activities, while providing technical support to stakeholders.

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·       Prepare actuarial valuations and support financial reporting.

·       Assist with Financial Condition Reports (FCR), stress testing, and regulatory/group reporting.

·       Analyse results, identify key issues, and provide recommendations.

·       Work with business units, management, and regional teams on reporting requirements.

·       Provide actuarial advice and technical support to stakeholders.

·       Improve processes, models, and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

·       Prepare reports and presentations for management and regulators.

·       Guide and support the development of junior team members.

Job Specification:

·       Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

·       Progressing in professional actuarial examinations.

·       Minimum 5 years of actuarial experience in general insurance, preferably in valuation and reporting.

·       Good understanding of actuarial valuation methods and insurance products.

·       Proficient in Excel; knowledge of VBA, SAS, R, Python, or SQL is an advantage.

·       Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

·       Ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

·       Good stakeholder management and organisational skills.

·       Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

·       Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members.
