岗位职责

Platform Test Engineer

DSP Concepts | Taiwan (remote)

DSP Concepts develops Audio Weaver, a software platform for embedded audio processing. We are expanding our Taiwan engineering team to help customers and silicon partners integrate its AWE Core library across a wide range of embedded platforms.

About the role

We are looking for a hands-on Platform Test Engineer to build and operate the automated tests that establish the quality of our AWE Core integration package. You will validate not only the software, but also whether customers and partners can successfully configure, build, deploy, and use the package on supported embedded platforms.

This is a software-driven test engineering role, not a primarily manual testing position. You will develop test scripts, automation, and test routines; run and maintain reliable automated test campaigns; and analyze and present clear results. The primary focus is embedded Linux, with additional real-time operating system (RTOS) and DSP platforms as needed. Effective use of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent tools is required for day-to-day coding and debugging.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain test plans and coverage for the integration package, including its C/C++ code, Python configuration tools, reference projects, documentation, and release contents.
  • Build Python-based automation and C/C++ test routines or harnesses as needed to configure, build, deploy, and exercise AWE Core integrations on embedded target hardware. Use AI agents to implement, refactor, and debug this test code.
  • Automate functional, integration, regression, stress, and long-duration tests. Measure relevant platform behavior such as CPU and memory use, audio continuity, latency, and recovery from errors.
  • Operate and improve hardware-based testing at home and in shared remote labs, including board access, provisioning, reset and recovery, log collection, and reproducible test environments.
  • Integrate tests into continuous integration and scheduled test runs. Minimize routine manual work through reliable setup, execution, result collection, and report generation.
  • Reproduce and diagnose failures across software, tools, operating systems, and target hardware, combining AI-assisted analysis with logs, debuggers, and reproducible tests. Work with developers to resolve defects and verify fixes.
  • Analyze and present test reports that communicate coverage, pass/fail results, performance trends, known issues, and release risks. Distinguish product defects from test or infrastructure failures.
  • Validate the customer integration experience from a clean setup using the delivered package and instructions. Turn documentation gaps, regressions, and recurring integration problems into improvements and automated coverage.

Required qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in embedded software testing, validation, or development, with a strong emphasis on embedded Linux.
  • Strong Python skills and experience designing and maintaining automated test scripts, frameworks, and tools.
  • Ability to read and debug C/C++ and develop test routines or harnesses when needed.
  • Demonstrated hands-on proficiency using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent tools for coding and debugging. Ability to scope tasks, provide repository and platform context, and iterate using build and test feedback.
  • Ability to critically review AI-generated tests and diagnoses, define pass/fail criteria from requirements, and validate results on target hardware. Sound judgment in protecting proprietary code, customer data, and credentials when using AI tools.
  • Practical experience configuring Linux targets, cross-compiling and deploying software, running tests on development boards, and debugging failures with logs and diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with Git, build systems, continuous integration, and reproducible tests. Sound judgment in designing coverage and interpreting results.
  • Good written and spoken English for technical collaboration, defect reports, test documentation, and presenting findings. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote engineering team.

Preferred qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in embedded software validation, test automation, or software engineering.
  • Embedded audio and DSP experience is especially valuable, including audio streaming, buffering, latency, sample rates, and audio performance testing.
  • Experience with Linux audio interfaces such as ALSA, Linux/Android platforms, or automated hardware-based testing.
  • Experience with RTOS-based systems or processor families such as Arm A-series or M-series, HiFi, SHARC, TI DSP, or QDSP. Expertise across every family is not expected.
  • Experience validating SDKs or integration packages used by external developers. Prior Audio Weaver experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with automotive SoCs.

Working in Taiwan

This is a remote position based in Taiwan, joining our existing Taiwan team of approximately ten colleagues. DSP Concepts does not currently have a physical Taiwan office, so you will work with development hardware at home and access remotely shared lab hardware. Occasional team meetups in Taipei may take place roughly once per quarter, with no regular office attendance requirement. Business travel may be required infrequently. DSP Concepts is headquartered in Santa Clara, California.
