About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on and forward-thinking IT Team Lead to lead and manage the IT function of LuLu Money (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security and continuous improvement of the Company’s IT infrastructure, systems and digital platforms supporting our foreign exchange and remittance business.
The role will lead the IT team while working closely with business stakeholders, external technology vendors and Group IT teams. The IT Team Lead will also play an important role in driving digital transformation, adopting appropriate Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, strengthening cybersecurity, and ensuring technology risks are effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Leadership & Operations
- Lead, supervise, coach and develop the IT team to ensure efficient delivery of IT services and support.
- Oversee the day-to-day management and availability of IT infrastructure, networks, hardware, software and business applications.
- Ensure timely resolution of IT incidents, service requests and technical issues across the Head Office and branch network.
- Establish and maintain IT policies, procedures, standards and documentation.
- Manage IT projects, system upgrades, technology implementations and digital transformation initiatives.
- Work closely with Management and business teams to understand operational requirements and recommend effective technology solutions.
- Manage relationships and performance of external IT vendors, service providers and technology partners.
2. Cybersecurity & Information Security
- Lead and continuously strengthen the Company’s cybersecurity framework and controls.
- Monitor and manage cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities and potential security incidents.
- Implement appropriate controls relating to endpoint security, access management, network security, data protection and secure system configurations.
- Coordinate vulnerability assessments, security testing and remediation activities.
- Establish and maintain cybersecurity incident response and escalation procedures.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness among employees through training and regular awareness programmes, including phishing and social-engineering prevention.
- Ensure appropriate security monitoring, logging, backup and recovery controls are in place.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure IT security practices support regulatory, audit and business requirements.
3. AI & Digital Innovation
- Identify opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation and emerging technologies to improve business efficiency, customer experience and decision-making.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate AI tools and solutions for areas such as process automation, IT support, data analytics and employee productivity.
- Support the responsible and secure adoption of Generative AI and other AI technologies, with appropriate consideration for data privacy and information security.
- Develop governance and guidelines for the responsible use of AI within the organisation.
- Stay updated on emerging technology trends and recommend practical innovations that can support the Company’s business growth and digital transformation.
4. Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
- Maintain and regularly test IT disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.
- Ensure appropriate backup, recovery and system resilience measures are in place for critical business systems.
- Participate in business continuity planning and support recovery activities during technology disruptions or cybersecurity incidents.
- Identify potential single points of failure and recommend improvements to strengthen operational resilience.
5. Compliance, Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure IT practices and controls support applicable regulatory, internal policy and audit requirements.
- Support internal and external audits relating to IT systems, cybersecurity and technology controls.
- Maintain proper records and documentation of IT assets, systems, access rights and technology risks.
- Provide regular reporting to Management on IT performance, major incidents, cybersecurity risks and improvement initiatives.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant IT experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory, team lead or senior technical role.
- Strong experience in managing IT infrastructure, networks, end-user computing and business applications.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in cybersecurity, information security and IT risk management.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, Microsoft 365, endpoint security, networking and identity/access management will be an advantage.
- Knowledge or practical experience in AI, Generative AI, automation or digital transformation initiatives is highly desirable.
- Experience in financial services, fintech, remittance, forex or other regulated industries will be an added advantage.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, ITIL, Microsoft Azure or AWS certifications will be advantageous.
