Senior DB Architect - DB2 to AWS Aurora Migration

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior DB Architect to lead DB2 to AWS Aurora Postgres migration and modernization initiatives. The candidate should possess strong architecture, strategy, documentation, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Define migration and modernization strategy
• Conduct discovery workshops and assessments
• Prepare HLD, LLD, migration design documents and runbooks
• Develop executive and technical presentations
• Design AWS Aurora target architecture
• Lead schema conversion, migration planning and cutover strategy
• Define HA/DR, backup and recovery architecture
• Drive governance, risk management and architecture reviews
• Mentor DBAs, developers and project teams

Required Skills

• IBM DB2 LUW, SQL, Performance Tuning
• AWS Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL, RDS, DMS, SCT
• Migration assessment, validation, reconciliation and rollback planning
• Strong documentation, proposal and presentation skills
• Customer-facing consulting and stakeholder management
• Linux/Unix, Shell/Python scripting
