Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and entrepreneurial business development professional to drive Linyang’s Net Zero Energy business development in Singapore.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing and driving demonstration and commercial projects across net-zero factories, green factories, industrial parks, campuses, commercial facilities and communities.
This is a business development and solution-oriented role rather than a conventional product sales position. The candidate should be capable of understanding customer needs, identifying business opportunities, shaping integrated energy solutions, and mobilizing Linyang Group’s technical, product and delivery resources to turn opportunities into executable projects.
The role will work closely with Linyang’s regional and headquarters teams covering renewable energy, BESS, microgrids, energy management, AI-enabled energy and carbon platforms, and other net-zero technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute business development strategies for Linyang’s Net Zero Energy business in Singapore.
Identify and develop potential customers and demonstration projects across industrial, commercial, campus, park and community scenarios.
Build relationships with industrial customers, property and park operators, government-related organisations, energy companies, ESCOs, consultants and other ecosystem partners.
Understand customer energy and decarbonisation need and translate them into business opportunities and preliminary solution concepts.
Drive opportunities involving integrated solutions such as solar PV, BESS, microgrids, energy management, energy-carbon platforms, EV charging, demand management and other net-zero technologies.
Work closely with Linyang’s solution, engineering, product and business teams in Singapore and China to develop competitive technical and commercial proposals.
Proactively communicate customer requirements to internal teams and drive cross-functional resources to support project development and execution.
Manage the full business development cycle from lead generation, customer engagement and solution development through proposal, negotiation and project closure.
Develop strategic partnerships and local ecosystem resources to accelerate Linyang’s business development in Singapore.
Track Singapore energy, sustainability and decarbonisation policies, market developments and emerging business opportunities.
Support the development of successful Singapore reference projects that can subsequently be replicated across Southeast Asia.
Requirements
Experience
Minimum 8 years of relevant business development, commercial or customer development experience.
A track record of independently originating, developing and closing business.
Experience in renewable energy, solar PV, BESS, microgrids, energy management, ESCO services, sustainability, smart buildings, industrial energy or a closely related sector.
Experience developing net-zero or low-carbon industrial parks, green or net-zero factories, campuses, or integrated energy projects is a strong advantage.
Capability
Able to engage customers on both commercial and technical considerations, and to bring in the right technical specialists at the right time.
Comfortable working from a lean local base without established marketing, pre-sales or support infrastructure.
Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills across customer, partner and internal-HQ audiences.
Sound commercial judgement and the ability to tell a real opportunity from an interesting conversation.
Learning agility and genuine curiosity about emerging energy and decarbonization technologies.
Education and language
Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Energy, Business, Sustainability or a related discipline.
Excellent command of English is essential.
Mandarin proficiency is an advantage, as the role requires regular working coordination with Linyang's China-based headquarters, product and engineering teams.
