Primary Purpose:

Functions as a senior technical specialist or in a lead role in electrical design. Works independently and applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods.

Job Description

• Plan, design, review and prepare drawings, specifications and Tender Document.
• Authorities’ consultation and submission
• Manage technical, engineering and contractual matters.
• Resolve any technical difficulties & other issues that may arise.
• Preparation of General Arrangement and equipment layout drawings.
• Preparation of electrical equipment, drives and cable specifications.
• Preparation of Equipment technical schedule and Bill of Quantities
• Prepare Single Line Diagrams, control schematics etc.
• Electrical equipment and cable sizing and calculations
• Design Lightning protection system, small power and lightings
• Review and evaluation of vendor submissions.
• Coordination with other disciplines e.g. civil, structural, mechanical,building services, instrumentation & control designers and digital solutionspecialists.
• Lead meetings, discussions with clients, contractors and vendors.
• Provide engineering support for bids & proposals.
• Provide engineering support duringconstruction
• Provide engineering support duringtesting & commissioning
• Design management and project management of proposals and projects where the scope is primarily electrical.
• Carries out network system and power quality analysis using ETAP software and submits report
• Leads a team of engineers and carries out QA/QC on their designs

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum10 years relevant electrical  design experience, preferably with consultancy experience
• Familiar with electrical local authority requirements and international standards
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Past experience working on water or wastewater projects will be an advantage
• Able to work independently as well as in a team to meet project timeline and budget
• Proficient in ETAP software for power system and power quality analysis
