Overview Of The Role:

• The Sales Advisor plays a key role in ensuring an exceptional customer shopping experience at Marks & Spencer. They achieve sales targets through excellent customer service, product handling, and merchandise display. Ensuring satisfaction, they adhere to company values and collaborate across departments. A successful advisor leverages product knowledge and operational skills to drive sales and maintain the brand’s high standards.

What You Will Do:

Customer Service

• Provide high standards of customer service as per M&S Way: All In For The Customer, Make Every Penny Count, Talk Straight, Own It And Get It Done.
• Ensure customers are comfortable, welcome, and courteously served.

Selling

• Achieve sales through good salesmanship, excellent service, and product information.
• Communicate seasonal highlights and promotion mechanics to customers to boost sales.
• Handle and display merchandise according to seasonal guidelines in an attractive manner.
• Develop product knowledge through training and briefings.
• Ensure efficient replenishment to minimize loss of sales opportunity.
• Provide feedback on customer comments and contribute ideas to improve sales.

Merchandise Management

• Administer accurate stock movements, including delivery checks and stock transfers.
• Count merchandise and complete administrative documents efficiently.
• Report stock shortages to superiors immediately.

Job Knowledge

• Operate the till with correct procedures, achieving high efficiency and accuracy.
• Utilize product knowledge to suggest products and promote benefits to drive sales.

Cost Control

• Be alert to prevent pilferage and stock loss, and report any cases to management.
• Use company property assets mindfully to avoid resource wastage.

Health & Safety

• Always be safety conscious and adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic environment on the premises.

Required Skills To Be Successful:

• Awareness of health and safety protocols in a retail environment.
