Job Overview:

We are seeking a Principal Generative AI & Machine Learning Specialist with a proven track record in large-scale retail, particularly fashion retail environments. This role requires deep expertise in machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI (LLMs, multimodal models, diffusion models, etc.), combined with strong domain knowledge of retail operations and customer engagement.

The Principal Specialist will lead the design, deployment, and governance of AI/ML solutions that transform product development, merchandising, supply chain, and customer experience across our global retail business.

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute GenAI and ML strategies tailored for the fashion retail industry
• Partner with merchandising, planning, supply chain, e-commerce, and marketing leaders to identify high-value AI use cases
• Lead the retail-focused AI/ML innovations, customer personalizations, and omnichannel analytics

Architecture & Technical Delivery

• Architect AI solutions for retail-specific challenges such as demand forecasting, OTB optimization, product description/content generation, customer segmentation, fraud detection, and replenishment
• Develop and deploy enterprise-scale GenAI/ML systems integrated with ERP, POS, CRM, PLM, and e-commerce platforms
• Lead experimentation with LLM fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) from product catalogs, multimodal fashion content generation, and agent-based systems

Collaboration & Mentorship

• Mentor retail data scientists, ML engineers, and analysts on advanced AI/ML techniques
• Build cross-functional collaborations across HQ IT, local retail markets, merchandising, and vendor partners

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field
• Proven experience working in large retail organizations, preferably global fashion retail companies (luxury, fast fashion, footwear, accessories, or apparel)
• 10+ years of AI/ML experience, including at least 3+ years in generative AI (LLMs, multimodal models, transformers)
• Deep understanding of fashion retail processes: merchandise planning, OTB, assortment, replenishment, POS/e-commerce integration, and customer engagement
• Strong expertise in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, Vector databases, and MLOps
• Experience deploying AI/ML at scale on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, Alicloud)
