M.E.I. Consultants Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Site Safety Coordinator to join our team on a contract basis in Batu Berendam, Melaka. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and ensuring workplace safety, health compliance, and the implementation of safety regulations at our construction projects, contributing to the successful delivery of our client’s objectives.

What you'll be doing

• Liaison with Clients, M.E.I.’s Penang office, other Consultants if any, Contractors and Sub-contractors on

project requirements.

•  Liaison with local authorities on projects and statutory requirements pertaining to projects.
•  Report to Construction Manager in day to day safety coordination issues pertaining to the construction

      activities.

•  Check compliance with local Act.
•  Check compliance with Client’s in-house safety regulations and procedures for the site.
•  Establish safe working conditions in the project site.
•  Conduct joint safety inspection on all works, equipment and procedure together with contractor,

nominated subcontractor and subcontractor.

• Compile and update safety record and reports.
•  Establish accident or dangerous occurrence investigation and prepare report.
•  Liaison with local authorities pertaining industrial safety issues.
•  Establish, formulate and implementation of Safety and Security Management System.
•  Conduct internal safety audit at regular interval basis.
•  Implementation and control of safety on project site.
•  Conducting project safety audit.
• Any other projects or assignments the Company deems

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar safety-related role, preferably in the construction industry
• Immediate starters are highly preferred
• Registered with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) as a competent Safety Officer (if applicable to your requirement)
• Strong knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations, risk assessment, and accident prevention measures
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills
• Keen attention to detail with the ability to identify hazards and implement corrective actions
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively
