Responsibilities

Lead and oversee workplace safety and health matters across project sites, ensuring compliance with applicable WSH legislation, regulations, and company requiremenT

Develop, implement, and monitor site safety programmes, procedures, risk controls, and safe work practices.

Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and safety observations, and follow up on identified findings and corrective actions.

Advise project management, supervisors, and workers on WSH requirements and provide practical recommendations to minimise workplace risks.

Monitor compliance with approved Risk Assessments, Safe Work Procedures, Method Statements, Permit-to-Work systems, and other relevant safety documentation.

Coordinate and conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings, inductions, training, and other WSH awareness programmes.

Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, including identifying root causes and recommending preventive and corrective measures.

Work closely with project teams, contractors, subcontractors, clients, and relevant authorities on safety-related matters.

Monitor contractors' and subcontractors' compliance with site safety requirements and ensure appropriate follow-up on non-compliances.

Maintain and manage WSH records, inspection reports, incident reports, training records, statistics, and other required documentation.

Monitor workplace safety performance and prepare regular WSH reports, statistics, and recommendations for management review.

Support emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response arrangements to ensure effective management of workplace emergencies.

Promote a strong safety culture and encourage continuous improvement in workplace safety and health standards.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in workplace safety and health, preferably within the construction, railway, infrastructure, or engineering industry.

Possess a Diploma or Degree in Workplace Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Registered as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the relevant Singapore authority.

Possess a valid WSHO registration/certification and meet applicable regulatory requirements.

Good knowledge of Singapore WSH legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and safety requirements.

Experience in conducting Risk Assessments, safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, and safety training.

Experience managing WSH matters involving contractors and subcontractors will be an advantage.

Strong communication, coordination, investigation, and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and effectively with project teams at all levels.

Candidates with railway, LTA, civil engineering, or infrastructure project experience will have an added advantage.
