Greenphyto Pte Ltd is at the forefront of sustainable urban farming, engineering controlled environments where crops thrive with greater precision, consistency, and resource efficiency than traditional agriculture allows. As we scale our hydroponic systems and expand our crop portfolio, we're looking for a Junior R&D Specialist to join our growing research team.

The Role

You will work closely with our R&D Manager and cross-functional team to develop and refine cultivation protocols that improve yield, quality, and consistency across our hydroponic operations. This is a hands-on research role suited to someone who is curious about plant science and excited to see their experiments translate directly into real-world growing systems.

Key Responsibilities

•    Develop and optimise cultivation protocols for leafy vegetables, Asian greens, herbs, and other crops.

•    Design and conduct trials on nutrient concentration and formulation to support crop performance.

•    Optimise crop growth, yield, quality, shelf life, colour, texture, and nutritional characteristics.

•    Investigate the causes of crop abnormalities, disease, physiological disorders, and post-harvest deterioration.

•    Evaluate new crop varieties and seeds for suitability within Greenphyto's hydroponic systems.

•    Document trial methodology, data, and findings to build an evidence base for scaling successful protocols.

What We're Looking For

•    A strong grasp of plant physiology and plant chemistry, gained through relevant academic study or practical experience.

•    A high level of attention to detail, a structured problem-solving mindset, and genuine passion for sustainable technology.

•    Comfort working within a diverse, multidisciplinary team of agronomists, mechanical engineers, and software developers.

•    Strong observational and analytical skills, with the discipline to record and interpret experimental data accurately.

•    A relevant diploma or degree in Life Sciences, Plant Science, Agriculture, Biotechnology,or a related field.
