Position: C++ Developer

Location: Penang, Malaysia

Salary: RM10,000/month

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced C++ Developer to join our client’s technology team in Penang. The successful candidate will work on moderate to highly complex applications, with a strong focus on modern C++, object-oriented programming, concurrent systems and large-scale applications.

This role is suitable for a hands-on developer who can work independently, solve complex technical problems and provide technical guidance to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain moderate to highly complex applications using C++.
• Develop, enhance and debug software modules and components.
• Apply strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles to build scalable and maintainable systems.
• Design and implement concurrent and multi-threaded C++ applications for real-time or high-throughput environments.
• Improve existing modules, reusable frameworks and internal libraries.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
• Work with cross-functional and distributed teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and make improvements where required.
• Work closely with Product Owners to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Break down complex technical requirements into manageable development tasks.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and development activities.
• Continuously build product and domain knowledge.
• Keep up to date with modern technologies, tools and software engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional C++ software development experience.
• Strong understanding of software engineering concepts and practices.
• Strong mastery of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design principles.
• Hands-on experience with design patterns such as:
• Factory
• Observer
• Strategy
• Singleton
• Command
• Strong understanding of SOLID principles.
• Solid experience in multi-threading and concurrent programming in C++.
• Good knowledge of synchronization mechanisms including mutexes, semaphores and condition variables.
• Experience developing or integrating with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) or similar large-scale systems.
• Good understanding of thread and memory management concepts.
• Proficiency in STL, Boost and modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20).
• Experience with memory management, performance profiling and optimisation.
• Hands-on experience writing unit tests using Google Test (GTest), CppUnit or similar frameworks.
• Experience providing technical guidance or mentoring junior developers.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into structured and actionable development tasks.
• Experience working with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve software development productivity.
• Ability to critically evaluate, validate and refine AI-generated code and outputs.
• Strong curiosity, analytical thinking and willingness to learn.
