Departmental support : Assist in shipping team in daily administrative, operational, and freight forwarding activities across air, sea, and land freight.
Documentation & Customs Coding : Prepare, review, and process shipping documents (Bills of lading, shipping invoices, packing lists, and customs declaration forms). Accurate customs tariff / HS coding is a key responsibility for this role.
Customs & Port Liaison : Coordinate with the Royal Malaysian Customs department. post authorities (KK Port, Sepanggar Bay Port), and regulatory bodies to facilitate prompt cargo clearance.
Stakeholder Coordination : Liaise closely with shipping lines, hauliers, warehouse staff, and transporters to ensure on-time delivery schedules.
Shipment Tracking & Updates : Monitor cargo movements, prepare status reports, and provide regular milestone updates to clients and internal teams.
Issue Resolution : Assist in resolving documentation discrepancies, cargo damage claims, and port or vessel schedule delays.
REQUIREMENTS
Education : Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience : 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in shipping operations, freight forwarding, or customs clearance.
Technical knowledge : Direct experience with Customs Tariff Classification (HS Coding) is a strong advantage.
Strong written and verbal command of English and Bahasa Malaysia
Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage to facilitate communication with regional shipping lines and Mandarin - Speaking clients and principals
Familiarity with local East Malaysian port operations and East-West Malaysia Shipping procedures
Meticulous attention to detail for documentation and data entry
Strong problem - solving ability under tight vessel / port cut-off times
