About PhoenixDX

PhoenixDX is a digital transformation and software delivery partner helping organisations achieve meaningful business outcomes through modern platforms, structured delivery and trusted advisory capability. We combine consulting, architecture and engineering excellence to move customers from idea to measurable value with clarity and confidence.

Who you are...

The Solution Delivery Consultant (SDC) operates at the intersection of team leadership, delivery governance, product and technical strategy, and customer partnership with commercial acumen.

This role ensures that complex engagements remain aligned to business outcomes, architectural direction and commercial commitments. The SDC provides structure, clarity and leadership across squads while maintaining a strong advisory relationship with customers.

This is not a hands-on developer role. It is a delivery-aligned consulting role that requires strong technical awareness, stakeholder management and governance capability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Governance

  • Maintain alignment between commercial agreements and delivery execution, particularly: in scope, out of scope, assumptions and dependencies, budget, timelines, engagement mode (co-delivery / T&M / fixed price), team composition (both PhoenixDX and the customer team), internal risk assessment of customer maturity and readiness

  • Manage project delivery to agreed timelines, scope and budget across fixed price and T&M engagements

  • Proactively manage customer expectations (pre / during / post engagement) and perception of value being delivered

  • Ensure reporting is accurate, structured and transparent for internal and client stakeholders

  • Identify risks, dependencies and scope drift early and drive mitigation plans

  • Support financial tracking, forecasting, burn rate monitoring, team and individual utilisation awareness and delivery health reporting.

  • Design and adapt Ways of Working frameworks, ceremonies, reporting structures, and governance artefacts to suit engagement requirements

  • Ensure governance forums are effective, structured and outcome-oriented

  • Drive quality assurance by ensuring architectural guardrails and delivery standards are maintained

  • Drive incident response coordination and escalation management for high-priority delivery issues.

2. Leadership

  • Act as a self-starter who brings clarity and direction in ambiguous situations

  • Lead by example through professionalism, accountability and strong communication

  • Take on both formal and informal leadership responsibilities within engagements

  • Motivate cross-functional teams to align around shared outcomes

  • Facilitate alignment across Technical Leads, BAs, SAs and Product Owners

  • Support the mentoring and coaching of junior consultants or delivery team members

  • Drive continuous improvement conversations within projects

3. Technical Strategy

  • Help set vision and clarity around technical direction within engagements

  • Maintain a holistic understanding of solution architecture and delivery constraints

  • Support the definition and socialisation of technical strategy documentation

  • Facilitate forums where architectural decisions are discussed and validated

  • Ensure requirements and backlog items align with agreed architectural guardrails, and non-functional requirements are understood and delivered

  • Validate estimation assumptions and delivery feasibility

  • Ensure documentation of decisions, assumptions and constraints remains visible and actionable

  • Identify when technical decisions compromise long-term maintainability or scalability

  • Maintain oversight of integration patterns, shared services, platform strategy, and cross-squad dependencies.

  • Connect technology decisions directly to measurable business outcomes and strategic objectives.

  • Maintain strong awareness of deployment strategies, release management, dependency management, and engineering quality practices.

  • Support roadmap discussions by balancing value, feasibility and technical sustainability

4. Product Strategy

  • Shape enterprise-level product and delivery roadmaps aligned to customer business priorities and measurable return on investment.

  • Guide backlog governance, feature decomposition, prioritisation approaches, and release planning across multiple squads.

  • Establish product delivery methods and prioritisation frameworks including value-based and outcome-based approaches.

  • Advise customers on long-term product strategy, delivery sequencing, market fit, and delivery sustainability.

  • Balance scope, delivery feasibility, commercial constraints, technical sustainability, and customer outcomes when making strategic delivery decisions.

  • Ensure alignment between architectural intent, implementation planning, and delivery execution.

  • Establish scalable release lifecycle strategies and delivery governance practices.

  • Create collaborative delivery environments between sponsors, business stakeholders, delivery teams, and technical leadership.

5. Customer Centricity

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders at multiple levels

  • Demonstrate commitment to customer success and long-term value

  • Drive on-site engagement and structured collaboration with client teams

  • Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and delivery squads

  • Maintain broad engagement across business and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and long-term partnership strength.

  • Adapt delivery approaches, governance artefacts, and engagement structures to align with customer culture and organisational standards.

  • Translate complex delivery topics into business-relevant communication

  • Gain an understanding of the business context of the customer organisation that allows for the anticipation of customer needs (proactivity)

  • Establish and nurture relationships across the customer organisation to support account expansion

6. Commercial

  • Proactively assess client portfolio to identify long-term growth opportunities and co-create with the Customer Manager deal architecture strategies to shape commercial strategies within engagements.

  • Lead commercial framing activities for Statements of Work, Change Requests, proposals, and delivery approaches.

  • Proactively manage commercial conversations with stakeholders, ensuring changes in scope are captured through well-structured Change Requests.

  • Actively drive expansion opportunities, positioning PhoenixDX to extend impact across the client organisation.

  • Collaborate with sales teams to shape realistic and compelling proposals

  • Ensure delivery execution aligns with agreed commercial commitments

  • Highlight potential commercial risks or misalignments early
