We’re Hiring: Windows Application Engineer / Application Support Engineer

Location: Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur)

Experience: 4+ years

We are looking for an experienced Windows Application Engineer / Application Support Engineer to support and enhance banking applications. The role involves application development, L3 production support, troubleshooting, tech refresh/migration, security remediation, testing, and coordination with business users and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide application enhancement and production support for banking systems.
• Perform problem investigation, root cause analysis (RCA), solution design, development, and implementation.
• Perform code-level defect fixing and application enhancements.
• Analyze system design and perform impact analysis for application changes.
• Support Tech Refresh projects, including migration of applications from obsolete servers, operating systems, databases, and platforms to newer versions.
• Perform PowerShell or Windows Batch scripting as required.
• Work with Control-M for job scheduling and batch processing.
• Work with Connect:Direct for file transfer activities.
• Perform application security remediation, including Veracode, Vulnerability Assessment (VA), and Penetration Testing (Pentest) findings.
• Identify application risks and implement improvements to mitigate them.
• Engage with business users to understand requirements, change requests, and modifications.
• Prepare functional and technical specifications and other SDM-related documentation.
• Perform Unit Testing, SIT, UAT support, and production cutover coordination.
• Coordinate with vendors for application fixes, enhancements, and implementations.
• Perform Level 3 Production Support and resolve complex technical and functional issues.
• Conduct knowledge transfer to the Production Support team for application releases.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of strong application technical experience in C++, .NET, or Java.
• Experience working in a Banking / Financial Services IT environment.
• Hands-on experience with application support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Experience with Tech Refresh / application migration / platform upgrade projects.
• Hands-on experience with PowerShell or Windows Batch scripting.
• Experience with Connect:Direct and Control-M.
• Strong understanding of application development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues from both technical and functional perspectives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
