Position: Instrument Systems Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Instrument Systems Engineer to join a major engineering and construction project in Singapore.
The role will be responsible for on-site supervision, instrumentation and FMCS system installation, interface coordination, testing & commissioning support, and overall site execution.
Candidates with experience in semiconductor fabs or high-tech manufacturing facilities are highly preferred. However, candidates from other complex and large-scale facilities will also be considered, including power plants, data centres, hospitals, pharmaceutical plants, and large industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate on-site installation of instrumentation, control and FMCS systems
- Coordinate with subcontractors, system integrators, vendors, clients and other project disciplines
- Review and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams and instrumentation/FMCS drawings
- Monitor construction progress, installation quality and work sequencing
- Support testing, commissioning, system integration and troubleshooting
- Coordinate FMCS interfaces with other building/facility systems
- Attend site meetings and resolve technical/interface issues with project teams
- Ensure installation works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, safety requirements and applicable regulations
- Provide technical and execution support throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control Systems, Automation, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant site experience in instrumentation, FMCS, control systems or industrial construction
- Hands-on experience in site supervision and installation
- Strong ability to read and understand P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams and control/instrumentation drawings
- Experience in construction coordination, subcontractor management and testing & commissioning
- Experience in any of the following environments is preferred:
- Semiconductor fabs / high-tech manufacturing
- Data centres/Power plants/Hospitals/Pharmaceutical plants/Large industrial / manufacturing facilities
- Good communication and coordination skills with contractors, clients and project teams
- Able to work independently in a site-based environment
- Willing to work shift-based hours, where required by the project
- Relevant qualifications/licences required for working in Singapore
