The Lifting Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and controlling all lifting activities at the bridge construction site to ensure lifting operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and according to the approved lifting plan and project requirements.

The position will support lifting activities involving bridge beams, girders, precast segments, reinforcement cages, formwork, machinery, construction materials, and other heavy components.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all lifting operations involving mobile cranes, crawler cranes, tower cranes and other lifting equipment.
• Review and ensure lifting activities are conducted according to approved lifting plans, method statements and risk assessments.
• Conduct pre-lift briefings and toolbox meetings with crane operators, riggers, signalmen and relevant site personnel.
• Ensure the correct crane capacity, lifting accessories, rigging arrangement and lifting radius are used for each lifting activity.
• Coordinate lifting works involving:
• Precast bridge beams and girders
• Segmental bridge components
• Reinforcement cages
• Formwork and temporary structures
• Construction machinery and equipment
• Heavy construction materials
• Inspect lifting accessories including slings, shackles, hooks, spreader beams and lifting gears before use.
• Ensure all cranes, lifting machinery and lifting accessories have valid inspection and certification records.
• Verify ground conditions, crane positioning, outrigger setup and lifting exclusion zones before commencing lifting work.
• Ensure proper barricades and access controls are established around lifting areas.
• Coordinate closely with Site Engineers, Construction Managers, Safety Officers, crane operators, riggers and subcontractors.
• Monitor weather and site conditions and stop lifting activities where conditions are unsafe.
• Ensure clear communication between crane operators, signalmen and rigging teams throughout lifting activities.
• Ensure workers do not stand or work beneath suspended loads.
• Monitor compliance with site safety procedures and immediately stop any unsafe lifting activity.
• Maintain lifting records, inspection checklists, lifting permits and related documentation.
• Participate in lifting risk assessments, method statement reviews and coordination meetings.
• Assist in investigating lifting-related incidents, near misses or equipment failures.
• Ensure lifting activities are properly sequenced with other bridge construction works to avoid site conflicts.
• Perform any other lifting or site coordination duties assigned by the Project Manager.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
