Job Summary
Conduct on-site inspections and develop detailed mechanical shop drawings to guide construction execution. Manage project schedules, material procurement, and coordinate QAQC inspections to ensure successful mechanical and piping system installations.
Responsibilities
Inspect mechanical system and piping installation work on-site to ensure compliance with project specifications
Develop detailed mechanical shop drawings including piping isometrics, equipment layouts, and ducting plans for construction execution
Coordinate drawing submissions for approval and guide site workers based on approved drawings
Establish and maintain professional construction schedules using Microsoft Project or P6, including Excel-based bar charts and 3-week rolling schedule tracking
Manage system equipment and material take-offs, source materials, conduct price inquiries and negotiations, and prepare material submittals
Inspect and verify quantities, specifications, and delivery of materials upon receipt
Participate in site and company meetings and prepare accurate meeting minutes
Support tendering activities by performing quantity take-offs, procurement inquiries, cost compilation, interview support, and site surveys
Coordinate with QAQC teams to support inspection and acceptance procedures at all project stages, including piping hydrotests, equipment alignment, and duct leakage testing
Oversee project close-out activities by tracking and completing punch-list items and resolving outstanding issues from other disciplines
Required competencies and certifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, HVAC, or a related field (full-time study)
1–2 years of relevant experience in mechanical or piping systems with exposure to full project cycles including design, construction, commissioning, and settlement
Proficiency in AutoCAD and standard office software such as Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, and P6
Basic understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, process piping, fire protection piping, and plumbing systems
Preferred competencies and qualifications
Strong communication and coordination skills to effectively collaborate with site teams and stakeholders
Ability to solve on-site technical issues promptly to minimize project delays
Willingness to work on project sites and adapt to project-based schedules
Openness to short-term assignments within Singapore or overseas project locations
