Role Summary
The position is responsible for:
Technical
Candidates would be particularly suitable if they have:
maintain and update settings in the bank’s wholesale banking systems
and make sure the systems continue to run properly for daily operations.
These system settings, also called
parameters
, may include things like transaction limits, processing rules, product settings, statement settings, business cut-off times, and customer or product configurations.
For example, if the bank needs to change a transaction limit from $1 million to $2 million, the
Maker
may be responsible for entering or preparing that change in the system. However, the Maker usually cannot approve the change alone. A
Checker
will review the change before it becomes effective. This is known as the
Maker-Checker process
, which helps reduce mistakes and improve control.
On a normal working day, you may receive requests from business or operations teams to update certain system settings. You will check the request, make the required changes, and submit them for approval.
You may also run automated processes to generate or verify customer statements and transaction advices. If something does not run correctly, you may perform basic troubleshooting by checking the system settings, processes, or error logs and working with the IT team if needed.
The role may also involve maintaining records, tracking requests, preparing reports, and supporting scheduled system activities, including occasional weekend work.
