About The Job

In this key operational role, you will lead day-to-day HR and administrative operations for the Malaysia branch in Johor Bahru, serving as the core operational link between local site staff and regional HQ.

  • Manage full employee life-cycle workflows, including candidate sourcing, interviewing, on-boarding, probation confirmations, transfers, and off-boarding.
  • Lead foreign worker management, including applications, renewals, FOMEMA checkups, and authority quota management.
  • Provide HR advisory to line managers while assisting in handling employee grievances, counselling, and disciplinary matters in compliance with local regulations.
  • Oversee monthly payroll verification with Finance, attendance tracking, medical claims, leave processing, and statutory compliance (EPF, SOCSO, PCB, HRD Corp).
  • Coordinate internal and external training programs, identify staff skill gaps, and process HRD Corp grant claims.
  • Manage general site administration, office maintenance, insurance policy renewals, and local licensing compliance.

About The Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field of study.
  • Proven background in HR generalist operations, preferably within Marine, Offshore, Engineering, or Logistics industries.
  • Sound knowledge of local labour legislation (Malaysia Employment Act), foreign worker frameworks, and statutory compliance standards.
  • Experience managing both corporate white-collar staff and operational/technical personnel.
  • Practical experience running branch or site-level HR independently while reporting into an overseas HQ.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills with a high degree of autonomy.
