Job Summary

Manage quantity surveying tasks including site measurements, tender participation, contract administration, and subcontract management to support successful project delivery in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

Travel periodically to construction sites to conduct site meetings, perform on-site measurements, and collect project data for accurate quantity surveying

Calculate quantities and contribute to the preparation of bids for private and public project tenders

Assess and submit monthly progressive claims and recommend monthly progress payments for subcontractors to ensure timely financial processing

Certify and evaluate progress work completed, including administering contract variations for both main contracts and subcontract works

Prepare documentation for contract processes from shortlisting to award, including evaluation, comparison, and recommendation of contractors and subcontractors

Monitor and manage records, correspondences, meeting minutes, and variation orders related to main contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain project transparency

Develop method statements and work procedures to guide project execution and compliance

Assist project teams by coordinating with consultants and safety personnel on safety-related matters to uphold site safety standards

Manage awarding of subcontracts and prepare related contractual documents to ensure proper contract execution

Source and purchase materials and related products required for production to support project needs

Finalize main contract and subcontract final accounts to close out projects accurately

Required competencies and certifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building, or equivalent

Minimum 2 years of local working experience in the Singapore construction industry

Proficient knowledge of public and private Conditions of Contract used in Singapore

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Strong negotiation skills demonstrated in contract and subcontract dealings

Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders

Meticulous work approach with analytical problem-solving skills to resolve project issues
