DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
An Assistant Security Officers job entails supporting security operations by assisting in patrols, monitoring access points, responding to alarms, and reporting security incidents, all while maintaining a vigilant presence and adhering to security protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol and Surveillance: Regularly patrol assigned areas to maintain order, deter potential threats, and identify suspicious activity.
- Access Control: Monitor and authorize entry of personnel, vehicles, and visitors, ensuring compliance with security procedures
- Incident Response: Respond to alarms, security breaches, and ofrer emergencies, following established protocols and procedures.
- Security Monitoring: Operate and monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
- Reporting: Document security incidents, observations, and activities, preparing reports as needed.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other personnel, providing clear and concise information.
- Customer Service: Assist visitors and staff with security-related inquiries and requests.
- Maintaining a Secure Environment: Ensure the safety and security of premises, personnel, and assets.
- Following Procedures: Adhere to company policies, security protocols, and legal guidelines.

- Observation and Attention to Detail: Strong ability to observe surroundings and identify potential security risks or unusual activities.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with others.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact professionally and courteously with staff, visitors, and law enforcement.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and make sound judgments in stressful situations.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Knowledge of Security Procedures: Familiarity with security protocols, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols.
- Basic First Aid and CPR: Training in basic first aid and CPR is often a desirable qualification.
- Report Writing: Ability to document security incidents and prepare clear and concise reports.
- Technology Skills: Familiarity with security systems, surveillance equipment, and computer software.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a security team.
