Role Description
We are looking for a hands-on Network Engineer to join our Network Operations team. The candidate will support the monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting and day-to-day operation of our production network infrastructure. Good networking fundamentals, Linux knowledge and experience with network monitoring systems are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain production network infrastructure and perform daily network health checks.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, packet loss, latency, routing issues, interface errors and link failures.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, VLANs and network-related services.
- Manage and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF and general routing.
- Support ISP, upstream provider, Internet Exchange and peering connectivity.
- Perform network maintenance and approved production changes.
- Troubleshoot fibre, SFP, cabling and data centre connectivity issues.
- Coordinate with ISPs, vendors and data centre providers during incidents.
- Maintain network documentation, device configurations, diagrams and SOPs.
- Support other technical teams on network-related issues.
- Participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call support when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Monitoring Systems
Candidate must have knowledge or practical experience with:
- PRTG
- Zabbix
- Nagios
- Centralized Syslog
- Oxidized
- SNMP monitoring, alerting, interface and bandwidth monitoring, latency, packet loss, CPU and memory monitoring.
Linux - Mandatory
Good Linux knowledge is required because our monitoring and network management systems run on Linux. The candidate should be comfortable with:
- Linux command line and Ubuntu/Debian environments.
- SSH, basic network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Installing packages and managing services.
- Checking system and application logs.
- Using systemctl and basic service management.
Required Network Knowledge
- TCP/IP, IPv4 and IPv6, subnetting.
- BGP and OSPF.
- VLANs, Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking.
- Static and dynamic routing, route filtering and ACLs.
- NAT, VRRP/HSRP, DNS, GRE tunnels.
- MTU/MSS troubleshooting, SNMP and Syslog.
Preferred Platform Experience
- Cisco routers and switches, including Cisco ASR and Catalyst.
- VyOS.
- MikroTik RouterOS.
- Linux networking.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Networking, IT, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related field.
- Preferably 2-5 years of Network Engineering or Network Operations experience.
- Experience in ISP, hosting, cloud, telecom, NOC or data centre environments is preferred.
- CCNA-level networking knowledge is required; CCNP, MikroTik, Juniper or similar certifications are an advantage.
Candidate Requirements
- Hands-on and comfortable working with production systems.
- Able to troubleshoot network issues independently and work under pressure during incidents.
- Good Linux knowledge and experience with network monitoring systems.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Willing to participate in maintenance and on-call support.
- Willing to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Key Expectation
This is a hands-on Network Operations role. The engineer must be able to monitor the network, troubleshoot issues, perform configuration changes, work with Linux-based monitoring systems and support day-to-day network operations.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
