About the role
As a materials engineer, you will be responsible for driving suppliers on quality issue resolution to meet Keysight quality expectations and proposing initiatives for cost savings opportunities through re-engineering efforts.
Key responsibilities
- Develop strategic supplier capabilities to effectively support Keysight's overall sourcing and technical requirements, providing technical recommendations as needed
- Actively explore and source new technologies through market research to meet Keysight's future requirements
- Lead cost saving initiatives projects with product leads on alternative material and part recommendations and qualification plans that meet Keysight product requirements
- Influence product design to ensure materials manufacturability and conformance with the global supply chain
- Collaborate with procurement and internal product teams to improve and sustain products and processes through technical understanding of material technology obsolescence and future roadmap
- Lead and work with suppliers on technical specifications studies and perform root cause analysis to meet Keysight quality expectations
- Lead and conduct supplier audits to drive supplier process standardization and continuous improvement efforts
