is seeking an experienced
IT Trainer / IT Support Trainer
to conduct practical IT troubleshooting and problem-solving training for adult learners.
The trainer should have hands-on professional experience in
IT systems, end-user support and workplace technology
, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to participants with basic IT proficiency and limited technical backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver instructor-led and hands-on IT troubleshooting training for adult learners.
Teach structured troubleshooting, problem analysis and root-cause identification.
Conduct practical training on Windows hardware and software troubleshooting, including startup, login, performance, printer, USB and peripheral issues.
Guide participants in troubleshooting basic LAN, Wi-Fi and IP connectivity issues.
Facilitate troubleshooting of Microsoft 365 and common workplace applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Cover common file-access, browser, password, authentication and multi-factor authentication issues.
Guide participants in recognising phishing, suspicious emails, unusual system behaviour and basic indicators of potential malware.
Facilitate scenario-based troubleshooting and practical problem-solving exercises.
Teach proper incident documentation and appropriate escalation to IT support.
Adapt technical explanations to non-technical and general end-user audiences.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in
Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Networking
or a related discipline.
Relevant professional experience in
IT support, desktop/end-user support, technical support, IT systems or workplace technology
.
Practical knowledge of
Windows troubleshooting, computer hardware/software and peripheral devices
.
Working knowledge of
LAN, Wi-Fi and basic network/IP troubleshooting
.
Familiarity with
Microsoft 365
, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Understanding of common
user-access, authentication, MFA and basic cybersecurity-related issues
.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able to explain technical concepts clearly to participants without advanced IT backgrounds.
Comfortable conducting
hands-on demonstrations and practical troubleshooting exercises
.
Good communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
Adult-learning/trainer qualification such as
ACLP/ACTA or equivalent is an advantage
.
Relevant Microsoft, CompTIA, networking, cybersecurity or IT support certifications would be an advantage.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with prior experience as an
IT Trainer, IT Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Specialist, Systems Support Engineer, Network Support Engineer or IT Executive
with training/facilitation responsibilities are preferred.
Experience conducting corporate or adult-learning programmes and developing practical IT troubleshooting scenarios will be an advantage.
