We are looking for a Production Manager to join our team and take charge of our day-to-day production activities. You will be responsible for making sure production runs smoothly, targets are met, and the team is working efficiently while maintaining our quality, food safety, and workplace safety standards.
Job Description
- Plan and manage daily production activities to ensure production runs according to schedule and targets.
- Monitor production output, manpower, materials, machines, and overall workflow.
- Lead and manage the production team, including assigning tasks, setting priorities, and monitoring staff performance.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, leave, overtime, and manpower requirements to ensure adequate staffing for daily production.
- Set, monitor, and evaluate staff KPIs and performance, including productivity, attendance, work quality, compliance with SOPs, teamwork, discipline, and achievement of assigned targets.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback, coaching, and guidance to production staff to improve their performance.
- Identify training needs and arrange appropriate training or on-the-job coaching for production personnel.
- Ensure products are produced according to the required quality standards, SOPs, GMP, HACCP, ISO, Halal, and food safety requirements.
- Identify and resolve production issues such as delays, machine problems, material shortages, manpower issues, or quality issues.
- Work closely with QA/QC, Warehouse, Purchasing, Maintenance, and other departments to keep production running smoothly.
- Monitor raw material and packaging material usage and minimise unnecessary wastage.
- Keep track of production performance, downtime, wastage, efficiency, productivity, and other relevant production KPIs.
- Review production performance against targets and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure the production area is clean, organised, safe, and complies with hygiene and workplace safety requirements.
- Ensure production records, batch records, reports, and other relevant documentation are properly completed and maintained.
- Monitor compliance with production SOPs and work instructions and take appropriate action when deviations are identified.
- Support investigation of production issues, non-conformities, customer complaints, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) where applicable.
- Look for ways to improve production processes, productivity, manpower utilisation, quality, and overall operational efficiency.
- Work with the relevant departments to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and submit regular production reports and performance updates to Management.
- Handle any other production-related tasks assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Production, Manufacturing, Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in production or a similar role, preferably with supervisory or management experience.
- Proven experience in managing and leading a production team.
- Experience in monitoring staff attendance, performance, and KPI is an advantage.
- Good understanding of production processes, SOPs, quality requirements, and food safety practices.
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO, and Halal requirements is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and people-management skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with different departments.
- Hands-on, responsible, organised, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good computer skills and comfortable with preparing production reports and analysing production data.
- Experience in food, nutraceutical, FMCG, or related manufacturing is an advantage.
- Willing to work overtime or outside normal working hours when required.
Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
