Assistant HR Manager – Construction Industry ONLY
Job Title: Assistant HRM
Location: Taman Maluri, Kuala Lumpur
Salary RM: 7,500.00 - RM 8,000.00
Job Purpose:
Assist the HR Manager in managing human resources operations for construction projects, including recruitment, manpower planning, employee relations, payroll coordination, compliance, and site HR administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the HR Manager in managing daily HR operations for head office and construction sites.
Handle recruitment and selection of site staff, engineers, supervisors, skilled workers, and general workers.
Coordinate manpower requirements with Project Managers, Site Managers, and department heads.
Manage employee onboarding, orientation, employment documentation, and confirmation.
Maintain accurate employee records, personal files, attendance, leave, and disciplinary records.
Coordinate monthly payroll, overtime, allowances, claims, and attendance verification.
Monitor workers' attendance, working hours, overtime, and site deployment.
Assist with foreign worker administration, including work permits, renewals, medical checks, insurance, and related documentation.
Ensure compliance with Malaysian employment laws and statutory requirements, including EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB.
Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, misconduct investigations, and staff counselling.
Assist in preparing warning letters, show-cause letters, termination letters, and other HR documentation.
Support performance management, training, employee engagement, and welfare activities.
Liaise with government agencies, contractors, recruitment agencies, and other external parties when required.
Ensure HR policies and procedures are implemented consistently across construction sites.
Prepare HR reports covering manpower, turnover, absenteeism, overtime, recruitment, and other HR KPIs.
Support workplace safety and employee welfare initiatives together with the project/site management team.
Assist in resolving site-level HR issues and maintain good employee relations.
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
5–8 years of HR experience, preferably in construction, engineering, property development, or project-based environments.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation and statutory requirements.
Experience handling site HR and blue-collar/foreign workers is an advantage.
Good communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
Able to work independently and travel between construction sites when required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR/payroll systems.
Pay: RM7,500.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
