For this position, we are looking for a Senior Application Support Engineer who can assist one of our clients - a leading technology provider for private banking and wealth management, serving financial institutions across Europe and Asia.

As part of the continued growth of the Application Support team in Singapore, we are looking for a Senior Application Support Engineer specialized in Payments to support, operate, and continuously improve its payment platform ecosystem.

The successful candidate will act as the technical expert for VolPay (VolPay by Volante Technologies), working closely with the Service Bureau team, business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and external partners, including SWIFT.

This role covers production support activities, Level 2/Level 3 incident management, payment flow analysis, platform monitoring, and participation in strategic payment-related projects.

Responsibilities:

Application Support & Production Operations

• Provide functional and technical support for the VolPay platform.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents and service disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout incident management activities.
• Participate in on-call support rotations.
• Monitor recurring issues and drive permanent corrective actions.
• Manage Docker container operations, including start, stop, restart, and configuration through Ansible Tower.
• Manage Docker upgrades, deployments, and version tracking.

Payments & SWIFT Expertise

• Support and monitor international payment processing activities.
• Analyze and troubleshoot SWIFT messaging and payment flows, including:
  • MT103
  • MT202
  • MT940
  • MT950
  • ISO 20022 messages (pacs, camt, pain)
• Work closely with the Service Bureau team on incident resolution and system enhancements.
• Investigate payment failures, rejections, duplicates, delays, and reconciliation issues.

Technical Administration & Troubleshooting

• Perform advanced troubleshooting on Unix/Linux environments.
• Analyze and resolve issues involving:
  • IBM MQ / MQ Series
  • PostgreSQL databases
  • MongoDB databases
  • Batch processing
  • File transfers and system integrations
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate operational tasks and investigations.
• Implement and maintain Splunk monitoring alerts to proactively detect application, infrastructure, and payment-processing issues.

Change & Release Management

• Participate in application releases and deployments.
• Prepare and execute implementation and rollback plans.
• Perform post-deployment validation and production checks.
• Contribute to CAB activities and ITIL change management processes.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify automation opportunities and operational efficiencies.
• Reduce recurring incidents through proactive improvements.
• Enhance monitoring, alerting, and reporting capabilities.
• Maintain comprehensive technical and operational documentation.

Deployment & RUN Operations

• Execute Volpay deployment
• Manage Docker container lifecycle (start/stop/restart) via Ansible Tower.
• Management of Dockers.
• Develop new Ansible templates
• Administer and monitor supporting infrastructure: Kafka, Zookeeper, MongoDB
• Maintain and improve deployment scripts and procedures (Docker-based)

Qualifications

Payments (Mandatory)

• Strong expertise in VolPay or similar payment applications, with hands-on experience managing Docker-based deployments and operations.
• In-depth knowledge of international payment processing
• Solid understanding of SWIFT messaging standards
• Good knowledge of ISO 20022

Systems & Middleware

• Strong Unix/Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Docker management.
• Shell scripting (Bash, Korn Shell)
• IBM MQ / MQ Series
• APIs and integration technologies

Databases

• MongoDB
• Advanced SQL skills

Production Support

• Application monitoring and alerting tools
• Incident and problem management
• Log analysis and troubleshooting
• Batch scheduling and processing

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in banking application support.
• Significant experience supporting VolPay or a similar payment platform.
• Experience within an international banking or financial services environment is highly preferred.
