岗位职责

Position Summary

The Fabric Maintenance Engineer (Corrective) is responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and rectifying fabric defects, structural damage, and corrosion/coating failures across offshore/onshore facilities. This role focuses on reactive, corrective maintenance – responding to inspection findings, incident reports, and unplanned defects to restore structural and coating integrity, minimise downtime, and prevent escalation of asset degradation. Close coordination with preventive maintenance, integrity engineering, and operations teams is essential to prioritise and close out corrective work efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and prioritise corrective fabric maintenance work orders arising from inspections, incident reports, or operational findings.
  • Diagnose the root cause of structural defects, corrosion, and coating failures, and determine appropriate repair methods.
  • Plan and oversee execution of corrective repairs, including surface preparation, coating reinstatement, structural steel repairs, and corrosion remediation.
  • Mobilise resources (manpower, materials, equipment) promptly to address urgent or safety-critical fabric defects.

Defect Management & Reporting

  • Maintain and update the corrective maintenance backlog within the CMMS (e.g. Maximo or equivalent), ensuring accurate status tracking.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring fabric failures and recommend corrective/preventive actions to reduce reoccurrence.
  • Prepare defect reports, repair records, and close-out documentation for completed corrective work.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

  • Ensure all corrective maintenance activities comply with company HSE standards, coating/corrosion codes (e.g. NACE/ISO), and relevant regulations.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, permit-to-work processes, and site safety briefings prior to corrective works.
  • Verify quality of completed repairs through inspection and sign-off prior to work order closure.

Coordination & Continuous Improvement

  • Liaise with operations, integrity engineering, and inspection teams to align corrective maintenance priorities with operational schedules.
  • Coordinate with contractors and specialist vendors delivering corrective repair services, ensuring quality and schedule adherence.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Structural, Marine, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • 3–7 years of experience in fabric maintenance, corrosion/coating repair, or corrective/breakdown maintenance, ideally within oil & gas or offshore environments.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS platforms (e.g. Maximo) for corrective work order management and tracking.
  • Strong understanding of corrosion protection systems, coating standards (e.g. NACE/ISO), and structural repair techniques.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and defect investigations.
