ELECTRIC CABLE JOINTER
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced
Electric Cable Jointer
to carry out cable jointing, termination, installation and related electrical works for construction and electrical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out jointing and termination of electrical power cables in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and work procedures.
Perform cable preparation, cutting, stripping, crimping, jointing and termination works.
Install cable joints, cable lugs, glands and other related cable accessories.
Carry out LV cable jointing and termination works for distribution boards, switchboards, risers and other electrical installations.
Assist with cable laying, cable pulling, dressing and connection works where required.
Conduct continuity, insulation resistance (Megger) and other basic electrical testing after installation or jointing works.
Identify cable faults or defects and carry out necessary repair or rectification works.
Read and understand electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and cable schedules.
Ensure all cable joints and terminations are properly completed, labelled and protected.
Coordinate with supervisors, electricians and other site personnel to complete works according to the project schedule.
Comply with site safety requirements, electrical safety procedures and company work instructions.
Maintain tools, equipment and materials in good working condition.
Perform other electrical installation and site duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Project Team.
Job Requirements
Relevant experience as an
Electric Cable Jointer, Electrician or in electrical cable installation works
.
Practical experience in cable jointing and termination is required.
Good knowledge of LV electrical cables, cable accessories, glands, lugs and termination methods.
Able to use cable jointing tools, hydraulic crimping tools, Megger/test equipment and other electrical hand tools.
Able to read basic electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
Able to troubleshoot and rectify cable connection and termination issues.
Knowledge of electrical and construction site safety requirements.
Able to work independently as well as part of a site team.
Physically fit and willing to work at construction/project sites.
Willing to work overtime, weekends or night works when required by project/site schedules.
Relevant electrical qualifications, trade certificates or cable-jointing certification will be an advantage.
Candidates with relevant Singapore construction or electrical project experience will be an advantage.
