Responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of construction projects, ensuring timely completion, cost efficiency, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
Responsible for project planning, supervising site operations, resolving technical issues, mentoring junior engineers, and coordinating with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Lead the planning, execution, and overall management of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with project goals and requirements.
Work closely with the Project Manager to develop project schedules, monitor progress, and implement corrective measures to ensure deadlines are achieved.
Coordinate with architects and engineers to review construction drawings and ensure designs are practical, compliant, and buildable.
Carry out feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential issues early and recommend effective solutions.
Maintain compliance with quality standards and project specifications through regular inspections and monitoring of construction activities.
Ensure construction materials and methods meet local building regulations, codes, and project requirements.
Coordinate site activities among stakeholders to ensure smooth and uninterrupted project execution.
Oversee daily site operations to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards.
Provide technical support, guidance, and mentorship to site personnel while ensuring subcontractor performance aligns with project objectives.
Develop, implement, and enforce site safety procedures and protocols in collaboration with safety personnel to promote a strong safety culture.
Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions to encourage safe working practices across the project team.
Monitor project costs and expenditures, and assist in preparing budget forecasts to achieve financial targets.
Review contractor claims, invoices, and variation orders to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and completed work scopes.
Prepare comprehensive progress reports for the Project Manager, outlining milestones, issues, risks, and overall project performance.
Support the HOD Engineering team by providing updates and contributing to strategic project planning and decision-making.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction Management, Professional Engineer PE, Chartered Engineer, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in building construction.
Proficient in using engineering design software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
